FirstBank of Nigeria has performed the groundbreaking ceremony of its iconic Headquarters in Eko Atlantic city, Lagos.
The building had been on the drawing board for so long that most people thought constructing the iconic FirstBank Headquarters building in Eko Atlantic city was a pipe dream.
That was, until the right man with the right vision at the right time Femi Otedola, emerged as head of FirstHoldCo Plc, the parent company of First Bank of Nigeria.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, the architect of the building provided the following details about the iconic building:
- The building will enable FirstBank to drive sustainability and innovation in the financial services sector
- The total height of the building is 252 meters
- This is about 43 usable floors, which goes up to 47 floors with the crown and 252 meters with the antenna
- The building will be the tallest in Nigeria and West Africa on completion
- There will be a car park that can accommodate 1,300 cars
- There will be a shopping mall located in the building, coffee shops, high end fine dining restaurant with a 360-degree terrace
- It will be one of the best towers in Africa and the world on completion
