I will Create Benue Millionaires Out of Agric Sector – Tyoachimin

The All Progressives Congress (APC), governorship aspirant, Mr. Godwin Tyoachimin has identified the agricultural sector as one of hidden potentials yet to be fully tapped by successive administrations in Benue to the advantage of youth to become silent millionaires.

The Abuja based Estate Surveyor and Valuer who made the disclosure when he appeared on the “Gubernatorial Platform” organized by the Benue State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Makurdi to unveil his agenda, said he will create an enabling environment for youth to embrace the sector and become self-sufficient.

The Director of Lands in the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing said he will also provide mechanized agriculture, create agricultural markets, ensure price stability, provide storage facilities and create millionaires out of the agricultural sector.

“If elected as governor in 2023, the administration will prioritize governance reform by making the workforce functional and creating an enabling environment that is conducive to enhance the productivity of workers.”

In the area of education, the Estate Surveyor said he will promote Science and Technical Education, rehabilitate and upgrade educational institutions and Special Science Boarding Schools will be set up in each Local Government Area of the state; sponsor the training of single Hons Graduates to acquire certificate in Education to qualify them as professional teachers in order to improve the quality of education.

The APC chieftain who hails from Vandeikya local government area of the state promised to increase investment in security and to use nonviolent approaches like advocacy and sensitization to tackle the menace of security breaches to safeguard lives and property of the citizenry.

“I will alleviate poverty through payment of public debts, pension arrears, regular salaries and wages; implement the child Rights Act (CRA) of 2003 and also domesticate Violence Against Persons Prohibition Acts (VAP) 2015.”

In the area of Housing and Urban Development, the Gubernatorial hopeful said he will provide urban infrastructure and will develop new towns and upgrade housing scheme; promising to ensure manpower and improve health education as well as provide primary, secondary and tertiary health facilities.

The Estate Surveyor while pledging to guarantee a total overhaul of the tax regime to improve the revenue base of the state decried the dearth of infrastructures left behind by the forefathers who had ruled the state with a great passion such that their legacies must be sustained under him.

“I served in the federal civil service for 35 years without blemish. I can assure that I will do the same at the state level as Governor and will follow the footsteps of former Benue Governors like the late Aper Aku, the late Rev. Fr Moses Adasu and Sen. George Akume who served the state selflessly.”

Earlier, the chairman, Caretaker committee of NUJ Benue State Council, Comrade Stephen Ijoh commended ESV Tyoachimin for making himself available at the interactive session with Journalists.

Comrade Ijoh assured the aspirant of adequate publicity before the electorates to make an informed decision of choosing the best out of many aspirants vying for governorship position in the state ahead of 2023 general election.

In remarks, The Voice chapel chairman, Ajai Kume described ESV Tyoachimin’s interaction with the media as a “developmental impact seminar” and urged him to keep to his words if elected as Governor come 2023.
