Helios Investment Partners agreed to acquire a majority stake in Frigoglass Group’s Nigerian glass-packaging business, Beta Glass Plc, for up to EUR100.00mn, transferring control of the company via its parent, Frigoinvest Nigeria Holdings BV, to the Africa-focused private equity firm.

The acquisition covers key operational assets, including glass containers, plastic crates, and metal crowns.

Regulatory approvals are expected by early 2026. Beta Glass stock listed on the NGX is up 470% year to date.

Once secured, the transaction will deepen Helios’ footprint in Africa’s manufacturing supply chain and provide Beta Glass with access to growth capital and strategic operational support.

Beta Glass’ share price remained largely unchanged, reflecting muted market reaction likely due to low free float and limited liquidity.

Overall, the acquisition positions Beta Glass for stronger medium-term growth.

“We expect increased capital investment, efficiency gains, and potential regional market expansion, contingent on successful integration and regulatory clearance,” analysts at Meristem Securities said.

“For shareholders, this could translate into higher returns on investment and dividends, supported by improved earnings capacity and Helios’ track record in scaling industrial assets across Africa.”
