Brexit : Air France Introduces Transit Visa for Nigerian Travelers to U.K

Air France

Nigerian travelers with a valid United Kingdom (U.K) visa or residence permit issued by the British authorities will need to be in possession of an airport transit visa (ATV) if they want to transit through France.

This is according to a release by Air France to its customers seen by MoneyCentral.

Exceptions to the new requirements are for Nigerians who have a U.K Visa or residence permit in addition to residence permit from Canada, Japan, the USA or European Union.

“Airport Transit Visa (ATV) applications must be submitted to VFS, after making an appointment either with the French Embassy in Abuja (visas.abuja-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr) or with the Consulate General of France in Lagos(visas.lagos-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr). Processing time for these applications requires a minimum of 7 days,” Air France said.

MoneyCentral understands from sources that the new rules are a fallout of the Brexit negotiations.
