Geregu Power a Nigerian electricity generating firm reported profit of N25 billion for the 9-Months period to September 2025, up 3.75% compared to the September 2024 period.
Profit growth was aided by a 16.7% jump in revenue to N131.46 billion in the period.
For the standalone Q3, 2025 period, profit increased by 17.5% to N4.9 billion from N4.17 billion as at September 2024, while revenue rose by 37.4% to N43.8 billion.
Other positives from the period include a 53% drop in impairment loss on financial assets.
Meanwhile, largest shareholder Femi Otedola further reduced his stake in Geregu Power at the end of September 2025 by about 12 million shares to 76.38%or 1.909 billion shares, from 76.86% or 1.921 billion shares in June.
The stake reduction was likely done to continue to increase the free float of the stock and improve liquidity.
The shares Otedola controls were worth N2.179 trillion ($1.45 billion) as at Friday October 10, 2025, as Geregu Power closed trading at N1,141.50 per share.
