NSE – 30 Index Dumps Transcorp for Julius Berger

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has replaced Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Limited Transcorp, with Julius Berger Plc in its index of the 30 largest and most liquid stocks or the NSE-30.

Julius Berger announced in January that its full year 2019 revenues jumped by 36 percent to N264.55bn from N194.61bn in the earlier period.

A breakdown of the revenue segments show that civil works recorded N150.79bn from N110.15bn in 2018, building works segment recorded N89.94bn from N65.70bn in 2018, while facility management services recorded N23.81bn from N17.39bn in 2018.

Another high point from the result is the fact that revenue from the Asia & Europe markets increased marginally to N4.55bn from N4.26bn.

The Transcorp Group for its part achieved turnover of N76.35bn, profit before tax of N7.90bn and profit after tax of N3.71bn in 2019.

Julius Berger is up 17 percent in the past year, while Transcorp has returned -36 percent in the same period.
