Abia Governor, Alex Otti is in the final stages of getting approval for an IsDB loan to address major road infrastructure gaps in the two key cities in the State.

This was revealed by the Minister of Finance Wale Edun, at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held in Abuja, on Wednesday.

Edun at the meeting presented a memorandum for a $125 million Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) financing for infrastructure in Abia State, covering 35 kilometres of roads in Umuahia and 126 kilometres in Aba.

Otti has been leading an infrastructure revolution in the State since his election about 2 years ago. In June he commissioned 14 road projects rehabilitated by his administration across Aba and environs as celebration of a new epoch in the State.

Otti has also completed the reconstruction of the perennially dilapidated 6.7 kilometres of Port Harcourt Road Aba.

The road, which was one of the most deplorable Federal Roads in the state was awarded to acclaimed engineering construction company, Julius Berger at the rate of N30 billion, with an official completion date of 18 months.
