A group under the auspices of Arewa Solidarity Group, (ASG), has described the 10 years agricultural plan of Kwara state Government as the right step in the right direction.
The group said that the agricultural Transformation Plan, designed to make Kwara food sufficient by 2030 is on course.
The leader of the group, Isa Ahmed on Monday in Kaduna disclosed that the 10 year agricultural plan was launched sometime last was to ensure food security.
Ahmed during a press conferdnce also said that the launched of the plan has attracted investments to the sector, created jobs, reduced poverty, and created inclusive growth by giving equal opportunities for women and girls since last year.
“It is obvious that since the launch of the 10 years agricultural plan, the plan is already improving the living standard of the farmers; creating indirect jobs in its numbers,” Ahmed said.
He noted that the plan which was hinged on six pillars: crop production, finance, livestock, access to market, value chain, and other programmes has added value to the lives of the farmers in the state.
The group thanked all the stakeholders and partners, while also urging all the players to embrace the initiative which has now changed the narative for better.
