As politicians begin to declare intentions in various states across the country, two top politicians ; Sen. Uba Sani and Muhammed Sani Popularly known as Dattijo, have declared their intentions to run for the number one seat in Kaduna state.

The first was Uba Sani, who declared his intention at the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat amongst a mammoth crowd and followed by that of the former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kaduna state, Muhammed Sani who took his declaration to the State Assembly complex.

At the declaration of Dattijo in Kaduna on Tuesday, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani and other principal officers were in attendance in the spirit of oneness and solidarity for Dattijo.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna party Chairman of APC and majority of the local government Chairmen of the party and a member representing Unguwan Sanusi Constituency, Muhammad Auwal Yaro were spotted during the declaration of Uba Sani.

While declaring his intention, Uba Sani said: ” As our beloved Governor prepares to gloriously depart the office in May 2023, the onus is on us all to continue and consolidate on his achievements and legacy. And like the popular saying goes, you cannot coach football if you were not a footballer yourself.

“It is only fair and natural that we have someone who understands the El-rufai philosophy; one who has carefully understudied him; a person who has been in the trenches with him, to continue from where he will stop on May 29, 2023.

“It is on the score, Mr. Chairman, that I, Senator Uba Sani, is formally declaring today, my intention to contest the gubernatorial primaries of our great party, the APC and indeed the main election in 2023 to succeed my leader and mentor, Mallam Nasir El-rufai as the next Governor of Kaduna state.

“I make this bid and declaration with the greatest sense of responsibility, intense love for this great state and our wonderful people and of course with the fear of God.

“In fact, we are poised to consolidate on the achievements and legacies of Mallam Nasir El-rufai and take them to higher levels for the collective good and the best interest of the good people of Kaduna state.”

In his part, Dattijo promised to also consolidate on the achievements of Governor Nasir El-rufai if allowed to attain the governorship position.

“I have been in the government for the last seven years, and my priority is to consolidate on the achievements of the Governor. A foundation has been built and the structure is very feasible, and our priority is to complete the structure,” Dattijo explained.

Dattijo who is the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Kaduna state, further explained that there are several aspirants within the APC and all of them have good qualities; many of whom he said he had worked with and willing to work with in the future.

“I am putting myself forward, and when there is a better candidate, of course we all follow. We are to visit the all 23 local government areas of the state and the stakeholders, and if the people of Kaduna state think differently, we are going to toe the line. APC is one big family.

“The Governor, the Deputy Governor and the State House of Assembly have prayed for us. They have given us hope,” Dattijo said.
