Sokoto State 2019 All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Honourable Ahmed Aliyu has assured that his party, the APC will reclaim it’s mandate from the PDP come 2023.
Ahmed Aliyu who is now the Secretary, Police Trust Fund, is still perceived by many in Sokoto as the likely candidate of the APC in the next election.
Speaking at the Sokoto South local government Secretariat, venue of the APC local government congress, Ahmed Aliyu affirmed that the massive turnout is simply but a manifestation of the fact that Sokoto belongs to the APC.
While thanking party loyalists for their continued confidence in the leadership qualities of their State leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the Police Trust Fund Secretary said they won the 2019 election and will win again in subsequent elections.
“APC in Sokoto State is the party to beat come 2023. For those that are yet to join the winning train, you are still welcome. We are ever willing to accommodate all.”
On his part, the APC National Congress Committee chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Abubakar said his committee was satisfied by the peaceful conduct of the APC Congress in Sokoto State.
He however appealed to those elected to be fair and practice justice to all. “You should strive to ensure that you all collectively build our party, the APC to a more enviable heights
“We have come, seen, and it’s perfect. No rancour, no violence, no disagreements. I appreciate the degree of political maturity displayed by the Sokoto State APC,” Abubakar noted.
