A Northern group under the auspices of Advocacy for Good Governance in Nigeria, has congratulated the Zamfara state Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle over his Nigerien national award on security.
The group stated this in a statement that the Nigerien national award was a well-deserved honour for the governor following his effort towards improving the security and securing lives and properties of the citizenry in Zamfara state.
This, according to the statement issued and signed by the leader of the group, Muhammed Abdullahi, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday.
Recall that the Zamfara state governor was awarded along with other prominent Nigerians who included the Jigawa state Governor, Alh. Abubakar Badaru, the Kebbi state Governor, Alh. Abubakar Bagudu.
Others are the Chairman of Dangote Group, Alh. Aliko Dangote and the Chairman of BUA group, Alh. Abdulsamad Rabiu.
While congratulating the governor, the group emphatically noted that Governor Matawalle was recognised by the Republic of Niger for his immense contribution towards checking trans-border crimes and terrorism in the Northern-western states of Nigeria.
In the statement the Group said: ” Governor Bello Mohammed is the first Governor in Nigeria who expressed his worry to the Nigerien Government over the free flow of weapons trafficking into the North-western states of Nigeria.”
