Ahead of Peoples Democratic Party primary election, a top governorship aspirant, Professor Dennis Ityavyar has inaugurated his campaign council with a charge to strategize on how to mobilise delegates in order to secure the party’s ticket ahead of the governorship race.
The campaign team headed by former member of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Kenneth Iyo as the Director-General, former assembly member, Mr Abraham Agba as Director of Finance and Administration, Mr. Mathew Mnyam Udeh as the Director of Strategy and Mobilisation.
Others are, former Chairman of PDP in Vandeikya Local government, Mr. Williams Ortese as Special Adviser, Barr. Kenneth Ula as Director, Legal Matters.
The gubernatorial hopeful while performing the ceremony in Makurdi on Thursday, added that the Director General and members of the council were carefully selected based on their experience and personalities,saying they are competent enough to assist him win the forthcoming PDP primary election.
While applauding the team, Prof. Ityavyar stated that the few vacant seats in the campaign team would be filled in no distant time, while instructing members to spread the party’s positive ideology to the public.
The Development Expert stated that when voted into power as govern or next year, he will build on the accomplishments of Governor Samuel Ortom, with a focus on security, agriculture, education, youth, women empowerment and people with disabilities.
Professor Ityavyar who is the immediate past Commissioner for Education, praised the First Lady of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom for supporting the cause of women, assured of his resolve to build on her efforts to give women a fair part in his administration.
Responding, the Director-General, Mr. Kenneth Iyo, expressed his readiness to work for the emergence of Prof. Ityavyar as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Director General later inaugurated the Prof. Dennis Ityavyar Campaign Coordinators in the 23 local government areas with a charge for them to go out and make friends in order to conquer for the victory of their principal.
Mr. Akpentomun Isaac, Hon. Udam Abul, and Hon. Aboh Sunday, who spoke on behalf of Zones A, B, and C, all pledged their unalloyed support and determination to ensure that Prof. Dennis Ityavyar clinches the ticket of the party.
