The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has sacked the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The judgement was delivered on Tuesday, when the court declared the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sa’ad Ibrahim, as the validly elected member representing Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency in the March 18 state assembly election.

There had been battle between, the speaker of the state house of assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, who is representing Umaisha -Ugya constituency in the state assembly and, Mr Daniel Ogah Ogazi, representing Kokona East constituency respectively over speakership tussle.

The crisis in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly had led to the emergence of two speakers which was later resolved by the state governor Abdulahi Sule, leaving Balarabe as the speaker but was sacked Tuesday by the appeal court.

At the time of filing this report, the sacked speaker was yet to react to the appeals court verdict.
