Despite COVID-19 Pandemic We have Attracted Over $500m Investment To Nasarawa – Abdullahi

Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer Nasarawa State Investment Development Agency (NASIDA), says despite the COVID-19 pandemic the agency has attracted over $500 million investment to Nasarawa State as part of the agency’s responsibility to drive the state economy.

Abdullahi disclosed this while briefing Journalists in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital, on the activities of the agency.

He said since the coming of the Administration of Abdullahi Sule, a lot has happened in the area of investment and  improvement of the governance of Nasarawa State.

Abdullahi said, NASIDA, a one-stock shop for all business opportunities, has the mandate to initiate, promote, facilitate, and coordinate investment in the state.

The NASIDA CEO mentioned some of the investments attracted to the state to include, Nasarawa Transport Company, Karu Retail, and Recreational Mall, Cassava processing park, Nasarawa Technology Village, Nasarawa Agriculture Commodity Company, Meter Manufacturing Plant, among others.

He said, “The role of government is to provide legal environment regulatory framework for business to operate in the state.

“Over the past two years of governor Sule’s administration we had closed significant 13 public-private partnerships, we implement a significant business environment.

“This has attracted over 500 million US dollars investment to Nasarawa State both domestic and foreign into the key sectors of the state economy.

“Today you witnessed the signing of Public-Private Partnership agreement for the Nasarawa State transport and the construction of Bus terminus.

“We also recently signed an agreement with BECOM energy for the construction of Awuta Balefi recycling plant, the project has attracted about N32billion both domestic and foreign investment, ” he explained.

Abdullahi, however, called on the people of Nasarawa State to support the agency in its effort to make the state economic driving state.
