DSS Raids Tukur Mamu’s Residence, Office in Kaduna, Carts Away Valuables

The Department of State Service, DSS at about 12.30 am on Thursday, raided the residence of Malam Tukur Mamu as well as Desert Herald Newspaper office in Kaduna.

A reliable source from the family confirmed to newsmen that handset phones and laptop computers were seized.

The source said: “they came heavily armed and they searched everywhere in the house and his office and nothing suspicious was found”

“Thery are about 50 of them who came with sophisticated weapons in Toyota Hilux, Toyota Highlander Jeep as well as Army Vehicles.

“They returned the two wives that were with him but his sons, Ibrahim and Faisal are still with him in detention.

“I will say again, that they found nothing suspicious or incriminating boyh in the house and office but they seized our phones and laptops computers,”. the source said.

Mamu, Media consultant to Sheikh Ahmad Gumi who negotiated the release of some of the victims of Abuja-Kaduna train attack was arrested in Egypt along side his two wives and two children while going to Sandi Arabia for lesser Haj. They were deported from Egypt to Nigeria on Wednesday after about 24 hours in detention.

The Management of Desert Herald Herald Newspaper had in statement on Wednesday condemned the arrest and demanded for their immediate and unconditional release.
