El-rufai Applauds NB as Firm Commissions Police Station In Kaduna Community

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-rufai, has applauded the Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc over the donation of a 5 block administrative police station in Kudenda; Kaduna state.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Business Innovation, Prof. Kabir Mayo disclosed that the company over the years has continued to reinvest part of it’s profit back to the society through Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) instead of sharing the entire profit amongst shareholders.

While speaking, the Commissioner commended the company for the starter Kits distributed to women and youths during the skill acquisition training in Kaduna recently.

Kabir Mayo urged other businesses in Kaduna to emulate the character of Nigerian Breweries Plc, especially in the area of CSR

He thanked the company in its efforts to complementing some of the government’s responsibilities, adding that the society will continue to appreciate the goodwill of the company.

In his speech, the Commissioner of police Kaduna Command, CP Yekini Ayoku, while speaking said, the Nigerian Breweries has replaced the apartment being rented as police station since 1997 with a modern police station.

“We must commend the Nigerian Breweries for the heart of giving. And this is also a support to the IGP’s community policing strategy,” CP Ayoku said.

While also urging other companies to emulate the Nigerian Breweries plc, he stressed that it would go a long way in reducing criminality in the community.

He however warned that the Nigerian police will not tolerate any form of attack on the facility or its personel, just as the CP said that the station will be equiped with all the necessary gadgets.

Earlier, the Northern Regional Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Kabiru Kassim commended the Kaduna State Government for creating an enabling environment for their business to strive.

He said: “as a business, we have enjoyed a good relationship with the people of Kaduna state in the last 59 years. And we were awarded as the best tax payee organization.”

Kassim further explained that: “in our effort to support the Kaduna State government, we introduced Maltina School games, Ramadan recitation quiz and Maltina Teacher’s Award among others.”

Also speaking, the production manager Kudenda, Mr. Olusoji Onigbinde explained that the company will not relent in supporting social stability in the state.

“Part of our Corporate Social Responsibility in Kaduna State include; supporting the government by donating the sum of 20 million naira cash as COVID 19 intervention, donation of an accident and emergency unit at Gwamna Awan hospital, Kakuri and VVF ward at Gambo Sawaba Hospital, Zaria amongst others,” Onigbinde said.
