A group under the auspices of Advocacy for Good Governance in Nigeria, has applauded the Zamfara state governor, Bello Muhammad Matawalle for signing into law, the Bill prohibiting and punishing Banditry and other form of criminal offences in the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the leader of the group, Muhammed Abdullahi, and made available to journalists in Kaduna at the weekend, where he stated that the law would go a long way in mitigating crimes in the state.
Recall that recently, in an effort to address the lagging challenges of banditry and associated crimes in the state, Gov. Matawalle signed into law a Bill prohibiting banditry and other incidental offences which include; rustling, cultism and kidnapping in the state.
In the statement, the group urged the state governor to continue to explore all possible remedies to ensure that the plight of the citizens are addressed.
The leader of the group explained that the governor has done excellently well through the provision of social amenities to the teeming population of the state, despite the inherited security challenges.
According to Abdullahi, the governor, within the space of his administration, the state has recorded tremendous achievements especially in the areas of education, health and road infrastructure.
He enjoined governor Matawalle not to relent in his effort and aspiration to take Zamfara state to an enviable position.
