Group Blasts SDP Guber Candidate in Kwara Over Empty Promises

A group under the auspices of Arewa Solidarity Group (ASG), has blasted the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal in Kwara state.

The group expressed displeasure over the campaign manifestos of the SDP candidate, adding that the party; SDP lacked orientation about the needs of the people in the state.

The leader of the group, Isa Ahmed, while addressing press men in Abuja on Friday explained that Kwarans deserved the best and nothing less.

The group challenged the SDP candidate on his agenda, adding that his agenda must be spelt out on how his campaign promises will be achieved.

“Beyond rhetoric, the SDP gubernatorial candidate in the person of Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal should let the people of the state understand how intend to achieve all his campaign promises, and not just come and give empty promises,” the leader of the group said.

The group who frowned at the attack on the Governor of Kwara state, AbdulRasaq AbdulRahman by the SDP candidate on the internally generated revenue of the state is uncalled for.

While addressing the press, the group further explained that the present administration has ensured equitable distribution of resources to all 16 local government areas in the state.

The group also explained that the massive infrastructural facilities such as road network and other projects are also spread across the three senatorial districts of the state.

“The SDP gubernatorial candidate is out to deceive the good people of the state and mislead them for personal interest. We therefore urge Kwarans not to allow themselves to be used,” the group urged.
