Group Salutes Gov. AbdulRasaq On Agricultural Revolution

A socioeconomic group in northern Nigeria, under the aegies of Arewa Solidarity Group (ASG), has saluted the agricultural revolution of the AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq’s led administration in Kwara state.

The group said that agriculture holds a significant role in any given economy, adding that its impact goes beyond the production of cash crops and livestock.

The leader of the group, Isa Ahmed disclosed this while addressing some group of journalists in Makurdi, Benue state at the weekend.

According to the leader of the group, Kwara State is one of the emerging states in Nigeria threading on the pathway of agriculture, explaining that since the assumption of office, Gov. AbdulRasaq has been very key to the recent agriculture programs and has also leverage on the agricultural potentials of the state.

While speaking Ahmed said that Kwara state government has committed significant resources to progress the 10-year Agricultural Transformation Plan in the state, which according to him has actively seeks to revamp the agricultural climate of the state by empowering smallholder famers who have had their businesses suffer from infrastructural deficit.

Ahmed also disclosed that for road accessibility for farmers especially those in the rural areas, AbdulRasaq’s Government has committed huge amount of money to assist in the construction of new rural roads and refurbishment of several dilapidated rural roads within the state to ease movement of farm produce.

The group therefore urged the governor to continue in the direction of ensuring that farmers in the state live better life from their hardwork of providing food to the people beyond the state.
