One of the frontline Peoples Democratic Party 2023 Governorship Aspirant in Benue State, Pastor Terwase Orbunde, has expressed appreciation to the leadership of the party for their efforts at providing direction on the governorship and other elective candidates.
He commended the leader of the party, Governor Samuel Ortom, State Working Committee members led by Sir John Ngbede, Senators Gabriel Suswam, Orker Jev and Abba Moro, National Assembly Caucus, the three zonal caucuses, local government party chairmen, their caucus members and other stakeholders, as well as G-14 and G-9 for their various roles in that regard.
The former Chief of Staff to the Governor, in a statement, on Wednesday, stressed that major stakeholders of the party in the Benue South Senatorial District, Kwande, Ushongo, Vandeikya, and Konshisha local government areas deserve appreciation for the painstaking ranking of governorship aspirants in their areas for easier management of the process.
He congratulated his fellow aspirants for participating in the pruning exercise which threw up a few among them as coming first among equals in their District and respective local government areas maintaining that the system ultimately required that only one person emerge as Governor at the end of the day.
He appealed to all aspirants to reckon with human imperfections and accept the process in good faith in the overall interest of the party while reposing confidence in the leaders of the party to drive the process to the end.
According to the former Chief of Staff, human resources were required both in the process of becoming Governor and that of running government such that the quality manpower as found in the forum of aspirants remained useful in the present and the future pointing out that in the circumstances, there could be no victor nor vanquished.
Pastor Orbunde stated that the PDP should put its house in order quickly so as to focus on winning all elective positions in 2023 genera election.
