Following the public out-cry on the nefarious activities of some criminal criminal elements known as “Sara Suka”, the Kaduna Police, has arrested no fewer than 379 suspects within the state.
The Command disclosed that the arrest was due to the gallant determination of the personnel who also recovered Vehicles, Motorcycles, Master Keys, Cudgels and Scissors.
While briefing newsmen on the activities of the Sara Suka in the state on Tuesday at the Police Headquarters, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, explained that the Command has launched a serious manhunt on the criminals hibernating in some identified black spots in the state.
According to Jalige, the Command has been relentless in its efforts to sustain a serious manhunt on bandits and other perpetrators of crimes within the Command in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police.
The PPRO however, explained that the Command has organised constant raids on the hideout of the hoodlums with a view to having a crime free society where other law abiding citizens are allowed to do their business without them being molested or intimidated.
“Some suspects have been charged to court while others are undergoing discreet investigation, upon completion will also be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction,” Jalige further explained.
While speaking, he frowned at the new method adopted by the criminal elements in disposing law abiding citizens of their valuables by spraying a substance suspected to be acid on their victims especially within the metropolis.
Other items recovered from the suspects include: illicit drugs, 57 Bags of Dried Leaves suspected to be Indian hemp equivalent to 1710kg, GSM Phones and sharp Knives.
