Kaduna residents have reacted to what they described as kind-hearted nature of Tanko Rossi Sabo who was a delegate to the just concluded Presidential Primary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
According to news report, the delegate, Mr. Sabo had shared some portion of his money made at the primary amongst members of his community in Sanga LGA of Kaduna state.
Information gathered by our reporter revealed that the sum of N7 million was shared to the less privileged, as a means to alleviate their suffering.
In his reaction, a veteran journarnalist, Adamu Marshal commended Sabo for taking it upon himself to give back to the society, saying in Sabo (the delegate) there is spirit of humanity.
” I only hope that other beneficiaries from the primaries key into his reason of investing in the people, especially the vulnerables.
” If the leaders we have today have done similar thing, lot of problems and pains, infact, poverty would have been alleviated in our communities,” the veteran journalist explained.
Also speaking on the issue, a lawyer, Barr. Sekan Stephen Dzever, said that the man has been able to think outside the box to better the lives of the aged, children of school age among other vulnerables.
” If such a person is given an opportunity to lead, he will do better for the community,” the Barrister said.
Dzever who frowned at paying delegates before voting, explained that though, canvasing for the support of delegates through payment has come to stay in the nation’s electioneering process.
” In his wisdom Sabo ( the delegate ) has been able to indirectly woo support for his party not only within the community but beyond. This is an opportunity for others to emulate the spirit of giving of the man,” he stressed.
However, the beneficiaries of this gesture include: elderly people with health challenges, children of school age, widows amongst other vulnerables.
