Comr. Joseph Ewuga, the Labour party governorship candidate in Nasarawa state has condemned the abduction of pupils of LGEA primary school, Alwaza, Doma local government area of Nasarawa state.
Unknown gunmen had on Friday stormed Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), primary school Alwaza in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and abducted scores of school pupils in the area.
The abductors who whisked away the Six primary school pupils were said to have laid siege around the school while the children were going to school.
It was not clear the whereabouts of the school pupils.
The Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO Nasarawa state command, DSP Rahman Nansel confirmed the incident.
Two of the adopted pupils were later rescued by the police Saturday afternoon according to the PPRO.
Reacting to the incident on Saturday in Lafia, Comr. Ewuga called for full scale investigation into the issue towards finding lasting solutions.
The governorship candidate said his team was alarmed by the trend in the state where kidnapping of vulnerable citizens for ransom has turned into lucrative business.
He said the LP was saddened by the increased acts of terrorism in the state.
While identifying with the families of the abducted children as well as the victims of security challenges in the state, he promised to change the situation if the Labour party takes the center stage at the national level in next month’s election and he is also elected as the governor of Nasarawa state in the March election.
Ewuga appreciated the Nasarawa state police command for the rescue of two pupils so far.
