The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has donated food items and cash to the Tiv people of Doma Local government area of the state.

Represented by the state deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe, the governor said he acted based on the outcry by the Tiv people of Doma LGA during the sensitization tour for Sule’s re-election bid by “Association of Nasarawa State Tiv Civil Savants” ANSTICS, recently.

According to Akabe, “The ANSTICS visited the Tiv people of Doma LGA last Wednesday and after receiving a report of their plights from the chairman, Ihuman Christopher, the state government took it upon herself to come to their aid.”

During the visit, the Deputy Governor expressed the government’s deepest sympathy to the Tiv people of the LGA, adding that enough security would be provided to enable the affected communities return permanently to their ancestral homes.

The relief materials and cash were delivered to the affected people over the weekend by the chairman, Association of Nasarawa State Tiv Civil Servants ANSTICS, Mr Christopher Ihuman, at St John’s Nursery and Primary School, Agyaragu.

The chairman said the gesture would ameliorate the plights of the IDPs. After handing over the food items and cash to the coordinator of ANSTICS, Doma branch, Mr Fidelis Chulugh and the SSA to Gov Abdullahi A Sule, Emmanuel Moses Sebu, Mr Ihuman charged them to ensure fairness in the sharing formula in order to make sure the items get to every individual.

In a vote of thanks, Elder David Koko, on behalf of the Tiv people of Doma LGA, appreciated the kind gesture offered them by Gov Abdullahi A Sule.

He then passionately appealed to the state government to fast track ways of their return to their ancestral homes to enable them vote for him come 18th March, 2023.
