Women in their thousands stripped naked protesting against the declaration of Engr. Abdullahi Sule, APC, as the Governor elect of Nasarawa State.
This was made known to our correspondent during a press conference by women of Nasarawa State on Tuesday at the People’s Democratic Party PDP, secretariat in Lafia the state capital.
MoneyCentral had earlier reported last week that Nasarawa Women staged a peaceful protest over the declaration of AA Sule as governor of the state by INEC.
Leader of the protesters, Hon Stella Oboshi availed that they are protesting naked in nudity to convey their concern clearly and unmistakably.
She said they were shocked based on the IRev uploads which was in the public domain indicating that the PDP, candidate, David Ombugado won the recent Governorship election in the state with about 70 percent of the local government areas but one prof. Tanko Ishaya, returning officer of the state gubernatorial election announced unpopular winner for the people of the State.
Hon. Oboshi maintained that although some people tagged them as being insane, the strange act had made them not ashamed as women to say the least that they will continue with this type of hardship forced on them by the INEC staff and government officials.
She therefore called on critical stakeholders in the state and spirited individuals and international communities to assist and save democracy from strangulation.
