A new Commissioner of Police CP. Okoro Alawari Julius has assumed duty as the Commissioner of Police, Benue state command.
The CP who hails from Bayelsa state was appointed a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on 3rd March, 1990.
As a young officer in the Force, he served in different capacities across the country. He also served in Liberia as a contingent commander under the United Nations peacekeeping mission 2006-2007.
A statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer for the Command, SP Sewuese Anene in Makurdi on Monday, said in the year 2014, he was promoted to the rank of an Assistant Commissioner of Police and posted as Area Commander Damaturu and later ACP Operations Yobe state Command.
In Lagos state, he served as ACP Operations and Area Commander Apapa.
“In the year 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police and posted as DC CID, Ekiti and served also in the Department of Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja, DC Operations Calabar and DC Maritime, Lagos.”
According to the statement, CP Okoro was promoted to his current rank on 3rd March, 2022 and posted as the Force Provost Marshal, Force Headquarters, Abuja where he last served before his posting to Benue state.
It will be recalled that the immediate past CP Abbas Wale has been redeployed to headquarters for further assignment.
