The Nasarawa state police command says it has begun investigation into the attack on Ajimaka community in Doma local government area of the state.
Recall that suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked and killed over nine people in Ajimaka community in the early hours of Saturday.
A statement by the Nasarawa state Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Ranham Namsel and made available to MoneyCentral correspondent says the Commissioner of police, Bola Longe, has since directed the deputy commissioner of police in charge of the state criminal and investigation department (SCID) to move to the area and conduct a comprehensive investigation to unravel the misery behind the attack and arrest the perpetrators.
While condoling with the families of the deceased, the statement said the Commissioner assured that, the command will not rest until it brings the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
“24/4/2021 at about 0600hrs, information was received from overseer, Ekye Development Area that, on same date at about 0100hrs, unknown assailants attacked Ajimaka Village situated at Nasarawa/Benue boundatry, Doka district of Doma LGA.
“Upon receipt of the information, a joint team of Police and Military personnel were deployed to the scene where nine Corpses were recovered, each with multiple machete cuts.
“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal and investigation Department (SCID) to move to the area and conduct a comprehensive investigation in order to unravel the mystery behind the attack and arrest the perpetrators of the act.
“The Commissioner of Police hereby condoles with families of the deceased and assure that, the Command will not rest until it brings the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police enjoins members of the public to assist the Police with useful information that will assist in the investigation and curtail crime in the State,” the statement read.
