Police Recover AK47 Rifle, Operational Vehicle From Bandits In Kaduna

Kaduna Police Command has on Saturday disclosed that its men have recovered an AK47 from suspected bandits along Kudaru forest in Saminaka, Lere LGA of Kaduna State.

In a disclosure by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Muhammed Jalige, the Police, while on routine patrol at about 0745hrs intercepted a Volkswagen vehicle (Golf) green in color with Reg.No.KAG 142 AA heading towards Kaduna.

In the statement, Jalige further explained that the Operatives noticed the suspicious disposition of the occupants of the said vehicle and tried to flag them down; they immediately parked some distance away and took to their heels into the forest.

He said, the Policemen however, engaged them in a shootout of which they succeeded in apprehending one Bello Abubakar ‘M’ and when the vehicle was searched, an AK47 rifle was found concealed in a bid to escape the eagle eyes of the security forces along the route.

According to the PPRO, the suspect is currently undergoing thorough investigation and is giving useful information to the Police while concerted effort is ongoing with the view to apprehending the fleeing members of the gang to face the full wrath of the law.

While the Command is assuring members of the public that it will do everything possible to ensure that members of the gang are dislodged, Jalige charged officers and men to be vigilant at all times to effectively police their areas of responsibilities.
