A northern socio-economic group; Arewa Solidarity Group, has commended the prudent management of state’s resources in Kwara state by the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s led government in the state.
The group said, the governor’s approach in the spending of the state resources has made all the difference.
The leader of the group, Isa Ahmed made the commendation while addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Wednessday, where he also said that with the financial crunch, only governors who are prudent in managing resources can record meaningful achievements.
Speaking further, Ahmed said most of the states are going through, financial problem due tobthe slim resources from the Federal Government to the federating unit, and this made it difficult for most states in the country to be going through hard time.
“As a result of the financial crunch most of the states are going through, the federal government had to bail them out twice. This indeed is not the best time to be a state governor and only governors who are prudent in managing resources can record meaningful achievements. One of such governors is the Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“His austere lifestyle means that state’s resources would not be wasted. While some governors still engage in profligacy, the governor maintains a low profile while ensuring that the state’s resources are committed into developing the state.
“In the face of dwindling allocation from the federal government, many are wondering how AbdulRazaq is able to raise funds to execute state projects, and this as a result of his lifestyle,” Ahmed explained.
He therefore urged the governor to maintain his good reputation, just has the leader of the group also advised the governor to be more focused on his mission to rescue the state.
