The Senator representing Adamawa Northern Senatorial District, Mr. Ishaku Abbo (Cliff) has led the NEMA, NCAA, and FAAN agencies to survey Muchalla land before the commencement of the airport project which was recently awarded.

The Senator made a personal effort to bring the airport to Muchalla, a suburb area of Mubi which has been an economic hub of many States in Nigeria and west African countries.

Abbo emphasized that the airstrip is one of his many campaign promises made to the people of the Northern Senatorial zone and assured that the construction work will soon begin in earnest as it will boost the economy of the entire state.

Senator Abbo while addressing the press in Muchalla, Mubi North revealed that the First airstrip in the Northeast was in Mubi, He said his aim was to revive the old one that used to be known.

Meanwhile, he noted that the commercial potential of Mubi has been exploited and destroyed by selfish leaders who have cut off the market connection between Mubi and the Northern parts of Cameron, reaching down to Central Africa and Kenya.

According to him:

“Constructing an AirPort is one of my campaign promises that I’m duty bound to fulfill, I have to give my people lasting infrastructure projects that will outlive me, that will last for decades even when I’m not around,” Abbo said.

He further said that he will stay awhile in the community to see the work commence as already the airport terminal, air control tower and the runaway equipment are on the ground.
