Two APC Aspirants Claim victory in Plateau Party Primaries

The Plateau APC delegate elections, to determine the party flag bearer for the forthcoming bye-election for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency; Electoral officials has been declared inconclusive.

Chairman electoral panel for the election Mr. Habu Ajiya, while announcing the results Wednesday in Jos, said two aspirants Suleiman Kwande and Joseph Abbey got a tie in the elections.

Mr Ajiya, said both aspirants scored 344 votes, therefore he has no powers to determine the winner, he therefore shall communicate with the National body for the final decision.

In an interview with Journalists, both aspirants, claimed being victorious. Mr. Joseph Abbey insisted that the election was rigged against him.

“I’m not comfortable with the outcome of the election, something is wrong somewhere. I won overwhelmingly, my agent sent me text that I scored 367, while Suleiman Kwande git 340, I don’t know who tempered with the results,” Abbey noted.

Suleiman Kwande said ” I’m disappointed with the process; I have not heard of an inconclusive delegates election.”

“I know the forces against my candidature,” Kwande stated in an interview with Journalists shortly after the pronouncements by the Electoral panel.

It was observed that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC monitored the delegate election.
