The DIG of Police in charge of zone 4 comprising Benue, Nasarawa state Plateau State, Assistant Inspector-General of Police Mustapha Daura has waded into the Plateau state House of Assembly Speakership fracas and sued for peace.
The police chief met the Plateau state legislature in a meeting held in Jos, on Friday.
It will be recalled that for the past three weeks, there has been a crisis of who will lead the Plateau State Parliament. Currently security agents have taken over the complex of the state Assembly.
Meanwhile, the newly posted commissioner of Police in Plateau State, CP Bartholomew Onyeka has officially assumed office and assured citizens of effective policing.
Mr Onyeka stated this earlier Friday while briefing Journalists on his resumption and activities put in place to safeguard the state.
