Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 elections, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has threatened Igbos living in Lagos State with eviction and inheritance of their wealth.

She issued the threat in a video in which she was speaking with a lady of Igbo extraction, who had obviously wronged her.

In the trending video making the rounds on the internet, she said the deities of Lagos will be called upon to chase out the Igbo.

She declared: “We will invoke all the deities of Lagos to chase Igbo people out.

“Igbos who refuse to learn our language.

“Igbos who didn’t marry Yoruba, we will inherit them.

“Given how much we love Igbo, you now want to spoil everything.

“You are not the only tribe in this place.

“Hausas are here, we accommodate them.

“Calabars are here, we accommodate them.

“But Igbo are proving difficult.

“We will inherit you.

“We will invoke Lagos deities to chase away the Igbos who refused to learn our language.

“Those that insist not to marry the Yorubas, we will inherit their belongings.”

However, the date, time, venue and reason for the utterance by the senator did not accompany the video, with many saying it was an old one.

There were also others sources who said it was a family affair, with Senator Tinubu speaking in a convivial manner with those she was addressing.

At some point, she even said she could see she was being filmed.
