A veteran Nollywood actor, Kenneth Aguba, has reportedly been found homeless in Enugu State.

In an image which had been making rounds on social media platforms, Kenneth Aguba was spotted living in an open shelter, opposite a closed shop, with various cooking utensils which belonged to him.

The news platform, Igbo Times, which shared the news to the public on their Twitter account, wrote; ” Veteran actor, Kenneth Aguba popularly known as Agụba, is reportedly homeless. The place shown in the photos is said to be where he currently lives.”

Since the photos went viral, various Nigerians have expressed their anger and criticized the Actors Guild of Nigeria, questioning why they haven’t helped their own despite their trust fund programs.

Meanwhile, popular Nollywood Actor Yul Edochie who saw the picture of the actor announced publicly that he would assist his colleague.

Edochie announced on his verified Twitter account that Kenneth Aguba should make a video clip and call out his account number.

Yul wrote, “This one na small matter. Me I don’t believe in too much talk or time-wasting. Just get him to do a short video calling out his account details and post it online. We’ll do crowdfunding for him. He’ll never lack anything again.”

Meanwhile, in a statement released by the Actors Guild of Nigeria, the association revealed that they had been taking care of Kenneth for over four years until recently when his case degenerated.

The Guild in a statement signed by the Senior Special Adviser to the national president on media and publicity, Kemi Adekomi, described the actors plight as ‘spiritual issues’.

Taking to their Instagram account, the Guild wrote, “The attention of the Actors Guild of Nigeria has been drawn to an online viral picture of veteran actor, Kenneth Aguba living on the street.

“The National President of the Guild, Ejezie Emeka Rollas wishes to state in clear terms that the Guild has never abandoned Kenneth Aguba.

“Enugu state chapter of the Guild and individual members have been supportive in both provision of accommodation and medical interventions in the past four years to the veteran actor until his matter which could be a spiritual issue, degenerated recently.”
