Following the suspension of strike action by the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, The chairman of the union in Nasarawa state, comreade Yusuf Iya has said that the union will resume the planned strike which emanated from the federal government’s move to remove fuel subsidy if the FG do anything otherwise.

MoneyCentral gathered  that the organised labour had earlier directed all state chapters to mobilise members for a mass protest should the Federal Government (FG) go ahead to remove fuel subsidy.

Addressing journalists in Lafia, Comrade Iya said the suspension followed the reversal by the FG to remove fuel subsidy.

The Chairman explained that already the union in the state had mobilised members, civil societies, market organisations among others.

The NLC Chairman expressed gratitude to civil societies and other allies for their support so far.

The Nasarawa State NLC Chairman added that the union opposed the removal of the fuel subsidy because it would push pump price to between N320 to N340 per litre.

He assured workers that the leadership of the union would continue to stand for them by prioritising their welfare.
