The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, says 25 persons have died from COVID-19 related complications in the state between September 9 and 11.
Prof. Abayomi disclosed this in a post on his Instagram account @profakinabayomi on Monday, while giving the state’s COVID-19 update for the reported days.
He said that the 25 deaths recorded increased the number of the state’s fatalities to 605.
According to him, the state recorded seven new COVID-19 related deaths on September 9, increasing the number of the state’s fatalities to 587, up from the previous 580 recorded on September 8.
The state recorded seven COVID-19 related deaths on September 10 and 11 COVID-19 related deaths on September 11.
The update also shows that the number of COVID-19 tests conducted in the state is now 713,310 and the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections is 74,970.
The commissioner also disclosed that there are currently 217 positive cases in the Lagos state isolation centres while 66,844 people have recovered in the community.
He, however, said there are 2,345 active cases of the infection in the community and 4,959 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged from the COVID-19 isolation centres.
“The management of #COVID19 in Lagos is now via Home-Based Care, Telemedicine and Isolation in severe cases. Hence, testing is still on and has become a social responsibility.
“I also emphasised that so far the Isolation Consortium has been able to isolate 5,602 passengers of interest till date,” Abayomi said.
