Nasarawa Sports Commissioner Bags Youth Ambassador, Patriotic Youth Commissioner Awards

The Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, recently witnessed a beehive of activities.

First was the conferment of award to the Commissioner for youth and Sports, Lucky Isaac Yargwa by the Nasarawa State Adolescents and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health Technical Working Group, supported by the Ministry of Health and the Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency.

He was decorated as a Youth Ambassador for his numerous innovations and contributions to the growth and development of youth and sports as well as support to adolescents and society.

During the presentation of the award by leader of the delegation, Dr. Nawani Aboki, said the act was in acknowledgement of the support by the Commissioner towards the activities of the Organisations and target audience in Nasarawa State.

Amb. Yargwa expressed elation to the Organisation for noticing his meagre contributions for the honour, pledging to continue to render effective services to the citizens and State at large in line with the mandate of Governor Abdullahi Sule on “Exceeding All Expectations.”

Another award was “THE FIRST EXEMPLARY AND PATRIOTIC YOUTH COMMISSIONER IN NIGERIA/NIGERIAN INTEGRITY AMBASSADOR TITLE” which was presented by the order and seal of Nigeria Vogue Media & Integrity Academy, was in recognition of the Commissioner’s worthy impact for a greater nation building and his proficiency and tactfulness in leadership and peace-building mechanism through the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

The award and investiture were presented in the Office of the Commissioner by the Media Diplomat, Executive Officer cum Editor-in-Chief, Publisher, and All Nigeria Integrity Ambassador Campaigner-General of Nigeria Vogue Media, Dr. Amb. Taliat Gafar Ola.

In his acceptance remarks, the Commissioner thanked the Organisation for finding him worthy of the recognition, and said it was a call to do more for humanity and society.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Isah Mohammed Eyah, in his address, appreciated the Organisation for identifying with the Commissioner as well as activities of the Ministry despite being located in the South-Western part of the Country.

He noted that the award to the Commissioner was deserving as it would spur him to continue to impact lives and society.

Finally, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development hosted the Local Leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, who were on a familiarisation visit to him.

Led by the State’s Chairman, Comr. Mohammed Jaafar Loko, the delegation which comprised the State’s EXCO and Coordinators of Local Government Areas, requested for a seamless working relationship with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for effective service delivery.

The group also appealed to the Commissioner to persuade his Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs’ counterpart to give adequate priority to members of the Council by appointing them into areas of importance in order to contribute their quota to the overall development of the State.

Also in attendance at the familiarisation visit were  Permanent Secretary, Isah Mohammed Eyah, and Directors of the Ministry as well as Senior Special Assistants to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Youth Development and Sports Affairs, Shuaibu Sani and Hamza Ibrahim Moyi.
