Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-rufai has condemned the killings in Runji village, Zangon Kataf LGA, in which several lives were lost on Saturday night.
The Governor described the killings as unacceptable and unjustifiable.
This contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan.
In the statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday,
troops had a fierce encounter with the attackers and are still in the general area.
The statement further explained that the government was informed that the attack also left some residents injured and an unspecified number of houses burnt down in the community.
The statement however, noted that the government is still awaiting a detailed report from the security.
The Governor condoled the families that lost their loved ones and prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls, just as he prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
