KASUPDA Seeks El-rufai’s Approval To Demolish 907 Structures In Kaduna

Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA), has requested for the approval of the state government for the demolition of no fewer than 907 structures across the state.

Some of the structures marked for demolition include: Gbagyi Villa, Ali Scorpion’s House, Polo Club Stable Ungwan Doki, General Hospital Kawo, Arc. Namadi Sambo Road, Danbushiya Layout, and Damau House Farm.

According to KASUPDA, the reasons for the demolition are as follows: encroachment on schools, Development of Dangote Diary Farm, non-compliance on special regularization program, urban renewal and illegal sub-division.

In a document dated 20th April, 2023 tagged PS/OFF/7A/ZI/338 was directed to the office of the Principal Private Secretary; Sir Kashim Ibrahim House (Government) House through the office of the Commissioner, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

However, according to the said document titled: ‘Request for Clearance to Carry Out Pending Demolition exercise, KASUPDA had called on the attention of the Commissioner to some key pending demolition in the state.

While requesting for the estimated cost for the proposed exercise which stands at twenty nine million two hundrend and fifty three thousand, five hundred naira only, KASUPDA explained that the machines to be used are: Loadbed, Payloader, Bulldozer and Excavator.

The document which was signed by the Authority’s Director General, Ismail Umaru Dikko had also requested for the release of the funds from the Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-rufai.

” His Excellency, the Governor is invited to kindly consider the above and approve the release of the funds to enable the Authority to execute these pending tasks”, the letter reads.
