Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has passed into law a Bill For a Law to Amend the Nasarawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery Law, 2021 and other Matters Connected Therewith.
Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House announced the passage of the bill during the House proceedings on Monday in Lafia.
He said that the bill is all about changing the title of the Principal Law ” College of Nursing and Midwifery to ” College of Nursing Sciences” for manpower development in the State health sector.
” A Bill For a Law to Amend the Nasarawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery Law, 2021 and other Matters Connected Therewith read third time and passed,” he said.
The Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for Gov. Sule’s assent.
Earlier, Hon Umar Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the bill to scale third reading.
Hon Abel Bala, the Minority Leader seconded the motion.
The House unanimously passed the bill into third reading.
Similarly, A Bill for a Law to Make Provision For A Contributory Pension Scheme For Employees in the Public Service of Nasarawa State and for Matters Connected Therewith, scales second reading.
The Speaker announced the passage of the bill into second reading at the floor of the House today in Lafia.
The Speaker said that the bill was to ensure that every person who worked in either the public service of the State or Local Government receives his retirement benefits as at when due.
He then committed the bill to the House Committee on Public Account and that of Finance and Appropriation to work on the bill and report back to the House on 30th May, 2023.

In the same vain, the House deliberated on report of the House standing Committee on Education, Science and Technology on a Bill For a Law For the Establishment of the Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga and Other Matters Connected Thereto.
The bill report was presented by Hon Daniel Ogazi, the Chairman of the committee.
The Speaker slated May 24th, 2023 for the deliberation of the report.
