APC Loses Jigawa Central Senatorial Candidate In China

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has lost its senatorial candidate for Jigawa central, Alhaji Tijjani Ibrahim Kiyawa.

Kiyawa died in a Chinese hospital after being flown to China for further medical treatment. He was initially admitted at a private clinic in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A one-time House of Representatives member representing the Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency for two terms, he decamped to ruling APC after losing his election in 2015.

Expressing shock over the incident, Governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar Badaru described the late Kiyawa as “a man of honor, a great leader, and a role model to the younger generation, who has sacrificed his whole life to serve the common man”.

“The death of Tijjani Ibrahim Gaya has come with a serious shock to me and indeed to the people of Jigawa state. Every soul must taste death. Our prayer is always to have a good ending and no doubt our brother has ended in a good after battling a protracted illness,” Governor Badaru said.
