The gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Uba Sani, has tasked the Kaduna residents to elect credible leaders who are with the zeal to promote good governance in the state.
Uba Sani made the charge while soliciting the support of the citizens in Southern Kaduna during the APC zonal town hall meeting with the theme: ‘an engagement with citizens’ on Monday.
While speaking to stakeholders at the event, the gubernatorial candidate averred that amongst other contenders, he is the most credible and qualified candidate with a proven record of purposeful leadership in the present political dispensation as a lawmaker.
This is just as he challenged the gubernatorial candidates of other political parties in the state to prove to the people their contributions to the development of the state either in the past or presently.
” The gubernatorial candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) respectively were once representatives of their people, please challenge them to say what they have done to the people they represented during those years.
” I personally confirmed that no single bill was sponsored by the PDP gubernatorial candidate for good eight years while at the national assembly as a lawmaker.
” I have good records, and we can do better if elected as the Governor of Kaduna state in the coming election. We are the only political party that is yet to release our manifestos, and this is because we want to have the contributions of the people of Kaduna state, so that we can have people’s oriented manifestos as a guide” Uba Sani explained.
Speaking on his achievements as a Senator representing Kaduna Central, he disclosed to have sponsored and contributed to several bills at the upper chamber of the national assembly, which according to him include the amendment of the firearms act; a bill calling for the creation of state police among other several projects across his senatorial district.
Uba Sani who also opined that the traditional rulers should have a constitutional role to play in the area of intelligence gathering, which he said could be a panaceal to the lingering insecurity challenges in the entire country.
Though, he however, said that the Kaduna state government in synergy with other security agencies are working very hard to ensuring that the people of Kaduna state are in peace.
On the performaces of the APC administration in the state, Uba Sani also explained that the government of el-rufai has provided monumental projects across the three senatorial district, which he said his government will consolidate on if elected.
