As the nation’s electoral empire has extended the voters registration exercise, the Governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Suleiman Awwal has asked Nigerians to sustain the nation’s democracy and ensure good governance through the collection of their PVCs to enable them effect the desired change and exercise their civic rights in the country.

The gubernatorial candidate who described voter registration exercise as tool to fight against insecurity, injustice, hardship corruption, nepotism said the nation’s democracy and good governance can only be realised when Nigerians are armed and ready to effect the change.

Speaking in Lafia at his wedding which was turned to political jamboree, Awwal told the political gladiators and others involved in the strengthening of Democratic institutions and the entire citizenrs that caution must be made in determining the choice of the country’s leaders in 2023.

According to him, Nigerian leaders action and inaction against its citizenry has brought the country to the present hardship Nigerian’s were faced with stating that if there were no drastic revolution through the use of the voter’s card to decide the faith of Nigerians in 2023, there would never be time for the change.

“Nigerians must reject vote buying, vote for leaders with conscience ready to make sacrifices, Nigerians must be conscientious to avert the looming collapse of the nation’s democracy,” Awwal declared.

He advised the people especially those who did not have Permanent Voters Card PVC to ensure that they get considering its benefits in the democratic dispensation adding that it is only when they obtain the PVCs that they would have the strength, capacity to determine who to govern.

“We should continue to inspire and give hope to others as we deal with the situation at hand. Apart from the freedom that democracy brings, we should continue to build on the greater hope ahead of us,” the candidate declared.

“As we prepare to provide new leaders in 2023 through ballot, Awwal tasked Nigerians to look inwards and ensure that right choices were made to drive good governance for the larger society rather than personal interest. We must not lose sight of our unity, peace, and progress of our country. The nation cannot thrive in the face of hatred, mistrust, injustice, and lack of equity,” the Guber candidate stated.

While appreciating the gathering for turning up to grace their wedding ceremony, he called on the citizens to keep hope alive, support his ambition to salvage Nasarawa from the hands of the ruling APC government in Nasarawa state.
