Gov Lalong, PDP, Jang, Sen Gyang congratulate winners of Bye-election

The governor of Plateau state Simon Lalong has congratulated Musa Agah, of the People’s Democratic Party PDP who won the just concluded Bye-election of the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency.

A press release issued by the director of Press and public affairs to the governor Dr. Makut Simon Macham, also congratulated Eric Dabuk who won the Pankshin South state Assembly Bye-election.

Lalong’s statement also appreciated electorates and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC for the peaceful conduct of the poll.

Similarly, state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Chris Hassan and leaders of the PDP in the state Jonah Jang, has equally congratulated Musa Agah for the Victory.

The PDP Chairman stated this Sunday in Jos, during a press conference; Jonah Jang the immediate past governor of Plateau state on the platform of PDP in a press release said more victories for the party is on the way.

Senator Istifanus Gyang of PDP who represents Plateau North senatorial district also sent felicitations to the winner of the by-election through a press text to Journalists.

Meanwhile, the returning officer of the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency Bye-election Dr. Oyerinka Oyenrinde, had earlier declared Musa Agah of the PDP winner of the poll.

Declaring the result on Sunday, INEC’s Returning Officer, Oyerinka Oyerinde said Musa Agah of the PDP polled a total of 40,343 votes to defeat his closet challenger, Muhammed Adam Alkali of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, who garnered a total of 37,757 while Abbey Aku of the All Progressives Congress polled 26,111.

11 political parties contested the February 26th By-Election to fill the position left by late Haruna Maitala of the APC who died in a motor accident sometimes in April, 2021.
