‘I Will Turn Around Benue Economy Through Agriculture’ – Uba

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), governorship candidate in Benue State, Mr. Titus Uba has promised to tap the agricultural potentials of the state to enhance other sectors of the economy.

Addressing the people of Gwer – west and Makurdi local government areas in separate campaign rallies, Uba who is also the Speaker of the Benue State House of assembly, added that the strategy would not only create jobs for the teeming youth but also provide food security for the state and country at large.

The PDP guber candidate noted that Benue as an agrarian state has potentials of becoming the economic nerve center of the nation, stressing that his administration if voted into power will exploit the comparative advantage of the state in agriculture to make farming attractive and create wealth for the people of the state.

According to him, his administration would also strengthen the anti -open grazing law of the state with a view to protecting the seizure of Benue land from their rightful owners and called on Benue people to vote for him and all other PDP candidates.

The state number one Lawmaker also used the occasion to inform the people that he is back on his feet and thanked them for their prayers.

In his remarks, Governor Samuel Ortom said Benue has suffered too long from the ills of the president Buhari led federal government and enjoined the people to vote him as Senator, Engineer Uba as governor and all other PDP candidates to consolidate on the gains of his administration.

He emphasized that Uba had learnt the act of governance long enough for him to assume leadership of the state and assured the people of good governance if Uba succeeds him come May, 29th this year.

Other speakers including, the acting state Chairman of PDP, Hon. Isaac Mfo, Director – General, PDP State Campaign Council, Dr Cletus Tyokyaa, Senator Orker Jev and many others all encouraged the people to vote PDP in the forthcoming general elections.

The traditional councils of Tyoshin and Makurdi received Engr. Titus Uba gave their blessings to his candidature.

The occasion also witnessed the defection of thousands members of the APC and other opposition parties into the PDP in Gwer west and Makurdi Local government areas.
