The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Nasarawa state in the just concluded governorship election, Comr. Joseph Ewuga, has called on members of the party in the state to eschew bitterness and await his intervention.

Ewuga, who was out of the state after the election disclosed this to journalists when he returned on Wednesday.

The Nasarawa State Chapter of the Party has suspended eleven of its officials for engaging in anti-party activities during the just concluded governorship and State House Assembly elections in the state.

This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen by the LP State Chairman, Alexander Ombugu, and the party’s Assistant Secretary, Ashime Benjamin, in Lafia last Wednesday.

The statement said the suspension was done in conjunction with the national body of the Labour party to curtail future occurrences of such behaviors among members of the party, adding that the suspended executive members included officials from both the state and local government levels.

He mentioned the names of the suspended party executives to include; State Secretary of the party, Dahiru Abubakar; Women Leader, Hajara Dalhatu; and Treasurer, Musa Doma.

Others are Chairman of the party in LGAs. They include Keffi LGA, Kurah Tente; Obi LGA, Ashefo Jubrin; Akwanga LGA, Promise Ezekiel; Karu LGA, Muhammad Aruwa; Nasarawa LGA, Abdullahi Eya; Awe LGA, Abdulrahaman Kasimu; Nasarawa Eggon LGA, Achuku Ibrahim; and Lafia LGA, Muhammad Aliyu.

But reacting to the development, the former LP gubernatorial candidate Who collapsed his structures to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate David Ombugadu, a week to the election called on both parties to cease fire.

He said at the time the party was still studying the result of the election as announced by INEC there was no need for a crisis, adding that with the collapse of LP gubernatorial structures to the PDP candidate the PDP clearly won the election.

Ewuga who indicated interest in joining the legal battle in favour of the PDP said he was still consulting his lawyers for the next line of action, insisting that the PDP won the governorship election in the state.
