Mark Instrumental To Nigeria’s Political Evolution – Ortom

Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has congratulated former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark who turned 74 years old today, describing him as contributor to Nigeria’s political evolution.

The governor in a congratulatory message, described Sen Mark as a worthy son of Benue state and a pan Nigerian who was born in Oturkpo local government area on 8th April, 1948.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur, he paid glowing tribute to Mark for his steadfastness and unwavering commitment in the service to the nation.

The Governor noted the contributions of Sen Mark in the political evolution of Nigeria and urged him to make his wealth of experience available for the younger generation to tap from.

“Senator Mark has been a leader and stabilizer in the contemporary history of Nigeria. We, in Benue state are proud of him. We wish him more fruitful years in the service to our fatherland”.

Mark who retired from the Nigerian Army, was elected into the senate representing Benue South senatorial district since 1999 to 2019 during which he served as president of the senate for two terms.

Senator Mark who retired from active politics is at the moment, enjoying his private life at his country home in Oturkpo, the political headquarters of Idoma nation.
