The Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna State has accused a few group of people within the party in aiding the change of results of the last elections in favor of the ruling APC..
While accusing the members of their involvement in an anti-party activities, the State Party Chairman Mr. Felix Hassan Hyet desribed the action of the few members as unfortunate.
Speaking at the PDP Secretariat in Kaduna on Monday, Hyet further accused same set of members for being behind the purported suspension of the party leader, Sen. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi.
The party Chairman also described the suspension as the handi work of a few misquided elements, who had earlier accused Makarfi of anti-party.
Hyet however, dismissed allegations that Senator Makarfi engaged in anti party activities, adding that Makarfi led party members and spent huge amount of money during the PDP Campaigns to all the local government councils in the state and therefore cannot be said to be part of any anti party activities as alleged.
The PDP state party chairman, announced that at their sitting this Monday, the state executives endorsed decision of the Local Government party officials who planned to take disciplinary action against all those who took part in anti party activities during the last elections at all levels.
He quoted section 57 of the Party constitution as saying that only the National Leadership of the Party has powers to suspend a leader of the Calibre of Ahmed Makarfi, emphasizing that the purported suspension has no effect and should be discarded.
According to him, the party officials at the ward where Makarfi hails from had sat and resolved to take disciplinary action against all those that took part in signing the press statement of the purported suspension.
On the changing of election results, Hyet further explained that some wards including Makarfi, Kaduna South and Kaduna North Local government areas result were changed.
