Members of the People With Disabilities (PWDs) have announced Engr. Joseph Ewuga of the Labour Party (LP) as their choice governorship candidate in Nasarawa state, saying they will ensure his electoral victory in the forthcoming governorship elections.
This is just as the people of Ribi in Awe local government area of Nasarawa state, have thrown their weight behind the Candidature of Engr. Ewuga. Leader of the group, Alex Emmanuel disclosed this in Lafia, during a courtesy call on the governorship candidate, Engr. Ewuga.
“The endorsement became necessary as his manifesto showed a pledge to ramp up Nasarawa state,” Emmanuel said.
Formally collapsing their structure to Ewuga and LP Campaign Organisation, the leader said the body has a strong presence in all the electoral wards in the state, and 36 states of the federation which would be mobilized for the LP. Emmanuel added that the endorsement was in fulfilment of their promise to support Ewuga’s candidacy immediately after the LP primaries.
He said: “The primary election has come and gone. After consultations with political associates we have concluded to ensure that he emerges as the next governor of Nasarawa State.
“We hereby commit ourselves to Engr. Joseph Ewuga’s governorship ticket and will activate all our structures to do the needful.” Expressing his gratitude, Ewuga said the event was not only symbolic in many ways but has shown a demonstration of honesty and great character on the part of PWDS.
“This event is symbolic and indeed a great day. What we are witnessing here today is a demonstration of honesty and great character,” Ewuga said. “
“We share a common passion; a common dream for Nasarawa State, and we had discussions – that our programmes are for the interest of Nasarawa people.
Meanwhile the people of Ribi electorate ward in Awe local government area of Nasarawa state had earlier endorsed the LP party governorship candidate in the 2023 governorship election. The electoral ward comprising Hausa, Tiv, Fulani, Eggon among other communities said Ewuga’s vast experience and long practice of the Engineering profession has convinced them that he will take Nasarawa to a greater height.
David Kyan, who spoke on behalf of the community extolled the virtues of Ewuga saying he is the only man to take Nasarawa state to a greater height.
Responding on behalf of the governorship candidate, the Director General Engr. Joseph Ewuga Campaign organization, Mathew Bishop said the people of the state will not be disappointed if he (Ewuga) emerges the governor of Nasarawa state come 2023.
