Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu has hailed the emergence of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the running mate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
In his congratulatory message, Shaibu said “Okowa has built a reputation of political decency and competency. As a Governor, Okowa has positioned himself as a moral compass in governance. He is a unifier and a focused leader.”
Shaibu described Governor Okowa as a “goal-getter and an achiever who is driven by faithfulness to God and patriotism to humanity,” adding, “he will surely engage his astute brilliance and dogged determination to add value to the efforts towards rescuing the nation from further slide”.
While lamenting the APC administration, Comrade Shaibu appealed to Nigerians not to write off the country but be patient and support Atiku and Okowa in “rewriting our story and put Nigeria back on the right track”.
